The fourth entry in our new daily Made2Game series where we take a peek at an upcoming title that we’re getting excited about…
What? A first-person fantasy RPG set in a world so large and diverse it’ll make your legs wobble. Plus it’s got dragons.
When? 11/11/11 – Easy to remember. Harder to wait.
Where? PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
With a beast of a new engine, Bethesda are looking to knock previous installment in the series, Oblivion, clean out of the water. If you’ve seen the new trailer released earlier today, we’re sure you’ll agree they’re well on track to doing just that. Skyrim looks phenomenal. The added clout of the Creation Engine means a far greater level of graphical polish, intricate detail and dynamic gameplay.
Take the quest structure for example; these now change based on how you play the game, so the choices you make can affect who gives you a quest, or even where they take place. Combat has been overhauled, allowing players to wield dual weaponry while adding in some meaty combo finishers. The inhabitants of Skyrim are no longer the stilted, spud-faced dummies of Oblivion either, now they’ll actively go about their business (such as farming or operating a water-mill) and will continue to do so even when you speak to them.
Skyrim is shaping up to be an absolute belter of an RPG – November can’t come fast enough.
Developer legacy: Bethesda Game Studios are veterans of the RPG circuit. The very first Elder Scrolls title launched way back in 1993, a testament to the success of the series.

We say: “We already did.”
Can’t wait? Play this: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)
