Risen 2: Dark Waters trailer reveals a cast of nasties

As Risen 2: Dark Waters' console release date draws ever closer (it was released on PC back in May), the trailers are coming thick and fast. The latest gemn shows off a small selection of the nasties featured in Deep Silver's piratey sequel, and it begs the question: how does anyone get anything done?
Pretty much everything is ready to rip you a new one; even the crabs are huge, mutated, flesh-eating abominations like the "lobstrosity" in Stephen King's Dark Tower series (yeah, we occasionally read between extensive gaming sessions). It makes you wonder how (or, more to the point, why) anybody would travel the wilds of Arborea on foot.
Giant spiders, reanimated seamen (that's sailors, gutter-brain), oversized wasps and, of course, the standard RPG staple of good old hungry wolf aren't just commonplace, they actually outnumber the people by a huge percentage. Luckily, Risen 2's nameless hero and his epic Destiny are around to aid the culling effort by hacking the nastier species of wildlife into tiny pieces. Phew.
Check out this new trailer, entitled "The Bestiary of Arborea", for a sneak peak at some of the monstrous residents of Piranha Bytes' fantasy world.
Risen 2: Dark Waters is developed by Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver. It is scheduled for release on August 3rd. For more information, visit the official site.
