Dance Central dlc costs more than Rock Band

Dlc for Harmonix new Kinect game, Dance Central will cost more to download than the current content for Rock Band. Central Project Lead Kasson Crooker, has told Joystiq due to the "complexity" involved in development it will make the cost more. Rock Band's content has always been quite cheap but with content for Dance Central being much harder to create, Harmonix feels it has no choice if it wants to make some money from the dlc. "Because [Dance Central DLC] comes with a brand new unique routine with the three difficulties, we have to: engage the choreographer, find the song, license the song, come up with a routine, get them into a [motion capture] suit, shoot all the choreography, integrate the animation, build the filter system, the flash cards, the [voiceover] for 'Break it Down' -- it's a pretty elaborate process that is not only a lot more expensive, but a lot more time consuming." The dlc will not come on a weekly basis like the current content does for Rock Band, instead it will more than likely appear every two weeks. Dance Central is expected to release later this year.
