Fable III going episodic after launch

Peter Molyneux has said game demo's, are a “A horrible concept” and therefore believes he has come up with a different way to tempt people into buying Fable III. Speaking at the Game Horizon conference, Molyneux has said Fable III will be released in an episodic format soon after it hits retail, much like happened with Fable II almost a year after it released. Fable II managed to gain 1.6 million downloads and gained it's developers $15 million, so it looks like Lionhead has a good reason for wanting to take the same route again. This time, Molyneux is upping the stakes though, aiming to  sell five million units and has gain a profit of $150 million. “We are driving to sell more than five million units and to make a profit in excess of $150 million. We have to do that because if a franchise doesn’t reach that level it will inevitably wither.” Molyneux says the first episode will last around an hour and will be free to try, then if gamers wish they can then purchase the next episode or even purchase the whole lot. Fable III hits on October 26 for Xbox 360 and PC. Thanks, Eurogamer.
