THQ have announced that all pre-orders of their upcoming apocalyptic action game, Darksiders II will receive an upgrade to the Limited Edition. Along with the standard game, the Limited Edition comes with a one-use code to unlock the “Argul’s Tomb” DLC pack, featuring an additional side-mission.
Whichever side of the fence you fall on concerning "Day 1 DLC" or pre-order bonuses, these days it’s no surprise to see the publisher of any big game offering incentives to encourage consumers to buy their games new. An additional side-mission might not be a huge bonus, but for those fans already champing at the bit to get their pre-orders in it’s a nice reward.

The full Collector’s Edition, on the other hand, offers the Argul’s Tomb DLC and a new bonus weapon and armour set – as well as a host of other goodies including a replica of Death’s mask, a soundtrack CD and an exclusive artbook. A handful of new screenshots have also been released, which you can find at the bottom of this article.
Darksiders II follows the exploits of the Horseman Death, who comes to Earth to clear the name of his brother, War, wrongfully accused of kicking off the end of days. It features the always awesome Michael Wincott as the voice of Death, and has jazzed up the Zelda-esque puzzling and fighting of the original title with some interesting RPG elements.

Darksiders II is developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ, and is due for release in the UK on June 29th.
